Direct fire double distilled Donegal whiskey continues distillery’s ultra-premium single cask collection
The Crolly Distillery has unveiled its latest ultra-premium Irish whiskey with the launch of Croithlí Oloroso Single Cask, a limited-edition release that continues the Donegal distillery’s commitment to producing distinctive, direct fire double distilled single malt whiskeys.
The new release follows the success of the distillery’s acclaimed PX Single Cask and further strengthens Croithlí’s growing reputation for producing premium Irish whiskeys in limited quantities.
Limited to just 1,500 individually numbered bottles, Oloroso Single Cask has been fully matured in European oak ex-Oloroso Sherry hogshead casks from the renowned Juan Pino Cooperage in Córdoba, Spain. The casks were seasoned for two years with Oloroso sherry before arriving in Donegal, where they matured Croithlí’s distinctive direct fire spirit.
Double distilled over open flame using traditional Charentais copper pot stills, the whiskey is bottled at its natural cask strength of 54.8% ABV, is non-chill filtered and contains no added colouring, allowing the character of both the spirit and cask to shine through.
The result is a luxurious, full-bodied Irish single malt with layers of dried fruit, warming spice, toasted oak and creamy sweetness, complemented by the subtle texture and depth that have become hallmarks of Croithlí’s traditional direct fire distillation process.
Crolly Distillery Co-Founder Conor McMenamin said the release represents another important milestone for the distillery.

Distilled, matured and bottled entirely at The Crolly Distillery in the Donegal Gaeltacht, Oloroso Single Cask reflects the founders’ continued focus on producing authentic Irish whiskey using traditional methods rarely seen in modern distilling.
The release forms part of Croithlí’s growing portfolio of premium whiskeys, with further limited-edition expressions planned as the distillery continues to expand both in Ireland and internationally.
